What it is

Flat Sawing.

Also called slab sawing — for cutting horizontal surfaces like floors, roads, bridge decks and pavement. Ideal for removals, expansion joints and trenching, our walk-behind saws deliver straight, controlled cuts to precise depth.

What it's for

  • Floors & pavement
  • Expansion joints
  • Trenching
  • Removals

The detail

How NoCo does it.

Scan, snap the lines, cut to depth, break out and haul as needed, and — if you want the slab closed again — pour it back matched to the surrounding finish.

What flat sawing is

A walk-behind saw runs a diamond blade through horizontal concrete or asphalt at a set depth. One technician can cut long, straight lines quickly, wet, with the slurry contained.

Typical jobs

  • Trenching for plumbing and electrical
  • Slab removals and repairs
  • Expansion and control joints
  • Basement and garage floor openings
  • Openings for ductwork, elevators and stairs
  • Road, curb, bridge deck and pavement cuts
  • Ribbon cuts to break a slab out to depth
